Our Beliefs

We Believe:

• The BIBLE is the true, inspired, entirely trustworthy Word of God given to us as supreme and final authority in the living of our lives. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

• There is only one true, living and eternal GOD who has created everything, and exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, all having the same nature, attributes and perfection. (Matthew 28:19 and Ephesians 4:4-6)

• JESUS CHRIST is God manifest in the flesh that is visible. He came by virgin birth, lived on Earth and was totally obedient to the Father, performed many miracles, died on a cross to pay the penalty for the disobedience of sinful humans, and that God the Father vindicated Him by raising Him from the dead. Christ has risen to Heaven where He lives, interceding for those who believe. He will return again. (John 1:1-4, Acts 1:11, Philippians 2:5-11, and Hebrews 1:1-4)

• The HOLY SPIRIT is the person who convinces humans that they have sinned against God; that we stand in judgment, and that only Christ is the answer to our need. The Holy Spirit lives in everyone who believes that Christ is their Saviour, giving them a new spiritual ability to understand and obey God's Word. (John 14:16-17 and Galatians 5:16-18)

• HUMANKIND was created sinless and in God's image, but, because of disobedience, we have become sinful and lost our way away from God. Only through repentance and believing that Christ died to pay the price for our sin, can we be saved from eternal death. Salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned. (Genesis 3:1-24, Romans 5:12-19, Ephesians 2:8-9, Colossians 1:13-14, 2-21, and Titus 3:4-7)

• In the RESURRECTION of both the saved and the lost, the saved will spend eternity in the loving presence of God in Heaven, and the lost will spend eternity away from God in the Lake of Fire. (Luke 16:19-26, 1 Corinthians 15:51-57 and Revelation 20:11-15)

• The CHURCH is comprised of and unites all Christians, and, together, we form His Body on Earth; existing to proclaim the Good News, make disciples, seek and do God's Will, live according to the teachings of Christ, and gather together on Sundays to worship and glorify God. (Matthew 28:18-20, 1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23 and  Hebrews 10:24-25)

• As Baptists, God has given us two SACRAMENTS: Baptism and Communion.

Baptism is the immersion in water of a professing believer to symbolize his/her union with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. It implies death to his/her old life and spiritual rebirth. (Romans 6:3-4 and Colossians 2:9-12)

Communion (or the Lord's Supper) is a reminder to the believer that the Body and Blood of Christ were offered up for our salvation, and a reminder of our hope that Jesus will return again. (Luke 22:19-20 and 1 Corinthians 11:23-24)
